I hold a Master's Degree in Mediation and 30+ years at the Bar. In addition to my own practical experience, I have designed mediation programs and taught mediation courses. My practice style is a fluid version of interest-based mediation. I direct and control the general process in order to guide the parties toward fashioning a comprehensive and sustainable solution that will best suit their specific needs and objectives; but the power to formulate a solution always remains with the parties. The sessions are casual and as relaxed as possible. Some tension is inevitable; but managing it is critical. My job is to help the stakeholders to fashion a specifically tailored solution that will address their needs and circumstances. I remain neutral but I do control decorum.
I do not take arbitration cases and I do not impose resolutions at mediation. I believe that to be sustainable, any solution requires all parties to have a hand in crafting the resolution.
